This year's acGATEWAY showcase for elementary school students looked across the pond for inspiration.
With the theme “acGATEWAY Invasion 2018,” the annual summer event, held Tuesday in the gymnasium at Kennedy Middle School, featured works by British artists from The Beatles to Queen to One Direction.
More than 70 student singers, dancers, actors and artists performed during the program. Visual arts students displayed their works in the cafeteria.
Sponsored by the Aiken County Public School District, acGATEWAY is an intensive four-week arts program for students who excel in the visual and performing arts. During the program, students from across the county immerse themselves in their arts area.
The acGATEWAY showcase for middle and high school students will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the gymnasium at Kennedy Middle School at 274 East Pine Log Road. Admission is free.
