Amp The Appreciation

Aiken County Public Schools' teachers and employees have been working hard since August, but Friday they took time to have fun and celebrate and renew their energy for the end of the school year.

The district sponsored the first Amp the Appreciation in The Alley in downtown Aiken. The family-focused event featured a performance of popular tunes by the North Augusta High School Band and music by the Palmetto Groove band.

“School teachers are some of the hardest working people you'll ever meet. They deserve any sort of accolade, praise or support that we can give them,” District Superintendent Dr. Sean Alford said. “This time of the school year is always rough for everybody. We've been working hard all year long. We're getting ready for huge end-of-the-year activities: assessments, graduations. We want to do anything we can do to help people feel our sincere appreciation and the fact that we value what they do.”
