Brothers Earn Angler of the Year

Hunter Brycen Williamson, 17, and Landon Parker Williamson, 14, are the 2018-19 Anglers of the Year Points Champions for the South Carolina Palmetto Boat Center High School Team Trail.

With eighth-place being their lowest finish of the year, when all was said and done they found themselves at the top. It was a huge accomplishment since this was their first year fishing high school bass tournaments, not to mention the PBC has a 250-boat following in each event.

The finish guaranteed them a berth in the Bassmaster High School National Championship on Kentucky lake near Paris, Tennessee later this year. They also qualified to compete in the FLW National Championship June 19 on Alabama’s Pickwick Lake.

Brycen, as he is called, is a student at South Aiken High. Landon attends Aiken’s Kennedy Middle School. The family lives in Wagener.

Not only did the brothers collect huge trophies for their Angler of the Year honors, but also received scholarship money to go toward continuing their fishing careers in college.

It’s no secret the boys want to follow in their father’s footsteps. Jason Williamson has been an Elite Series angler on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail for 13 years. He has won more than $1 million since turning pro, has competed in three BassMaster Classics and has two Elite Series wins.
