ADULT EDUCATION FALL REGISTRATION, NEW AIKEN COUNTY ADULT EDUCATION CENTER LOCATION SCHEDULED TO OPEN SEPTEMBER 4
The Aiken County Adult Education Program has announced that registration for the 2018-19 fall semester will be held Tuesday, September 4.
A group of dedicated educators will support adult learners in their goals to achieve high school diploma completion, GED prep, career readiness certification, English language proficiency and more, in a sparkling new facility. Aiken County’s Adult Education Center is now located on Jefferson Davis Hwy next to Aiken Technical College. School board members, elected officials and district leaders cut the ribbon on the new campus on Tuesday at a celebration with staff and community members.
“We believe that all students, young and old, deserve an efficient facility fitting for a 21st-century education,” Aiken County Adult Education Director Pat Keating said. “The new campus is just right for this program and we’re looking forward to welcoming students after Labor Day. We want to ensure they earn the education, and or credentials, needed to help them thrive in life, not just survive.”
The Aiken County Adult Education Center was set to hold registration Monday, August 28. A few final projects are underway to ensure the new building is ready for opening day.
“Opening in a new location can at times present unique challenges. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our students and their families as we put the final touches on the new space,” Keating added.
