Supporting Our Students Through SRP

SRP Federal Credit Union launched their high school affinity debit card program in August 2018 with Aiken County Public Schools and has experienced great success with this new initiative. The program works by simply using an SRP high school affinity debit card and then a donation is made to the schools by SRP. In the short time the program has been running, it has raised over $18,000 for Aiken County Public Schools.

“This idea of bringing our communities together to not only raise money for our schools, but to also increase financial literacy, has truly taken off,” said Harry Gunsallus, President and CEO of SRP Federal Credit Union. “In addition to making a donation every time a high school affinity debit card is used, SRP is in the schools promoting financial literacy and educating our young people.”

“SRP has a presence in the schools and we stress the importance of being able to manage your finances from a young age,” said Grace Helms, AVP Community Development of SRP Federal Credit Union. “The high school affinity card program allows us to get the students excited about personal finances and offers them, and their families, the opportunity to raise money for their school.”

“To have already raised this much money during a four-month period is outstanding. Our schools are very appreciative of the support this program has received and we look forward to the future as this program will no doubt continue to grow,” said Dr. Sean Alford, Aiken County Public Schools Superintendent.
