We are so excited to introduce our Ridge Spring-Monetta valedictorian and salutatorian representing the Class of 2026!
Alyssa Whitfield, Valedictorian of the Ridge Spring-Monetta High School Class of 2026, is recognized for her outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to both Health Science and Agriculture.
She earned industry certifications in CNA, Phlebotomy, and EKG, completed a capstone internship with a large animal veterinarian, and gained agricultural experience through an internship with Yon Family Farms. Alyssa also excelled as a student-athlete, serving as catcher for the 2026 Class 1A District 2 Champion Softball Team.
Her favorite high school memory was the team’s hard-fought district championship victory, a bittersweet moment shared with her teammates, coaches, and supportive fans. She plans to attend Clemson University to major in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and pursue a career as a large animal veterinarian.
Connor McKinney has been named Salutatorian of the Ridge Spring-Monetta High School Class of 2026. Known for his strong work ethic and leadership, he served as a Student Council officer for three years and participated in organizations including Beta Club, NEHS, NTHS, FBLA, and SkillsUSA.
A Mechatronics Completer at the Aiken County Career and Technology Center, he was named SkillsUSA Electronic Technology State Champion in 2024 and attended Palmetto Boys State. His favorite high school memories include organizing and speaking at pep rallies and delivering the morning announcements, where he enjoyed connecting with and energizing his classmates.
Connor plans to attend the University of South Carolina Aiken to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering and a career in mechatronics.
