Our pledge leaders this week are Robert, Jakob, and Mattison from Mrs. Starnes' class! Any Busbee Student can be nominated by their teacher to do the pledge. Teachers look for great behavior and close attention to the pledges during the morning announcements.

Ms. Farkas asked us to post this as a "Thank You" to the community 💙🐾🍎
“The Golden Apple Award honors those who believe in the true spirit of teaching by making classrooms a fun and safe place of learning. Since 1993, WJBF–TV, News Channel 6, and their partners have been recognizing outstanding teachers — the everyday heroes who make the crucial difference in our children’s lives. Their efforts have made a lasting impression in the minds of the winning teachers as well as the students who nominated them.”
This past Friday morning, multiple adults unexpectantly entered my classroom and blessed me with verbal praise, accolades from former students, gifts [from Kroger, Universal Plumbing, Great Deals on Furniture and Busbee Elementary], and… “The Golden Apple Award!” Last night, the recognition aired on television. Brad Means [from the WJBF News Channel 6] was excellent in the classroom during the interview and made every effort to bring honor not only to me… but to my students, our school, and the teaching profession. His interaction with the students and appropriate questions allowed me to highlight why I fulfill the calling God placed upon my life, love the opportunity to invest in the lives of children, and why the teaching profession is vital and deserves honor and recognition.
A special “Thank You” to the parents/students/co-workers/friends who have submitted nominations over the past several years. Thank You to previous and present Administrators who support my efforts as a teacher and recognize the impact I have in the lives of my students. Thank you to everyone for the words of affirmation and attention received over the past few days. Your acknowledgement of what we do as teachers and for our students is appreciated.
Receiving the “Golden Apple Award” is an honor! It’s exciting to work in my own community where what is taught in the classroom is not only seen by “grades,” but is evident in the lives of the students as they mature into successful individuals. I am also blessed to work here at Busbee Elementary where teachers may not hold the title, “Teacher of the Year” or have received “The Golden Apple Award,” but definitely have a heart for our children and are worthy of honor and recognition.
Thank YOU!
Melesia Farkas

Important District-Wide Announcement: Internet and School Phone Outage
We are currently experiencing a Wide Area Network (WAN) outage that is impacting internet access district-wide and phone lines across all our school sites. This disruption appears to be due to a fiber cut on the network, affecting both our primary and secondary circuits.
Please be assured that our IT team is working diligently with service providers to resolve this issue and restore full connectivity as quickly as possible. In the meantime, should you need to reach a school during this outage, please contact our District Office directly at (803) 641-2428.
Updates will be shared here as new information becomes available. Thank you for your patience.
