BELVEDERE, SC — As the 2025–2026 school year enters its final stretch, the halls of Belvedere Elementary School are buzzing with energy, pride, and celebration. This upcoming week marks the final full week of the academic year, and the BES faculty, staff, and students are preparing to "Level Up" for an action-packed schedule of testing completions and milestone ceremonies.
Here is what is happening around the hangar this week:
Finishing Testing Strong
Following a focused start to the week on Monday, May 18th, our fourth graders will take center stage on Tuesday, May 19th (T Day) for the SC Ready Science Testing. This marks the absolute final day of state testing for our students this year!
Principal Allyson Long emphasizes that attendance is critical on Tuesday. Parents are asked to ensure their fourth graders get a consistent night’s rest, eat a healthful, balanced breakfast to fuel their focus, and avoid morning appointments. Testing will begin promptly, so please ensure your students arrive at school prior to 7:30 AM ready to show off everything they have learned.
Following a regular school day on Wednesday, students will let loose on Thursday, May 21st (V Day) with a school-wide House Party celebrating the hard work and triumphs of Reveur!
A Friday Full of Milestones
Friday, May 22nd (W Day) promises to be an emotional and joyous day for the Belvedere community, packed with traditions that span generations:
8:00 AM – The Senior Walk: BES will welcome back high school seniors who once walked these very same halls as young children. Clad in their caps and gowns, these graduating seniors will parade through the hallways, inspiring current students and reconnecting with former teachers.
8:30 AM – 4K Awards Ceremony: Our youngest aviators will be recognized for their incredible growth and socialization milestones.
5K Kindergarten Awards Ceremonies: Our kindergarten classes will take to the stage to celebrate their official completion of primary preparation! The ceremonies will take place by class:
10:00 AM: Classes for Ms. Jenison & Ms. Gay
11:00 AM: Classes for Ms. Lane & Ms. Carpenter
Friday also marks the absolute final opportunity for students to visit Quarles Corner between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM to purchase "Dill-icious Pickles" for $1. All proceeds go toward supporting our future second graders' upcoming field trip to the zoo.
Looking Ahead to 2026–2027
Belvedere Elementary is already planning for a smooth take-off into the next school year. Parents attending Friday’s ceremonies can get a head start by securing their child’s next-year teacher assignment early!
To qualify for early teacher reveal on Friday, parents must fully complete the online registration process and turn in two proofs of residency. Registrations can be completed by logging into aiken.powerschool.com and selecting the "Returning Student Registration for 2026–2027" icon on the left menu. Families requiring assistance are encouraged to call the front office at 803-442-6330.
Additionally, the school is seeking RSVPs for Kindercamp, which will be held on Wednesday, July 8th for rising kindergarteners. Two sessions are available (4:00–5:00 PM or 5:30–6:30 PM). If you or someone you know has a rising kindergartener, please RSVP to Mrs. Ferrell at CFerrell557@acpsd.net.
Let’s finish strong!
