Wednesday was Career Day at Aiken Elementary School! Thank you to the community members who came out to our school and talked with our students about their careers. #bettertogether

It's Almost Turkey Trot Time!

Don't forget this week is American Education Week!

The 1st graders at Aiken Elementary School had the best time with Spencer from FOTAS! Students were introduced to the book, Every Dog in the Neighborhood in the library this week. Then on Friday, Mrs. Samaha came to visit and brought Spencer. She talked with classes about the animals at FOTAS and ways to volunteer. Spencer and his brothers are up for adoption at FOTAS. He is the sweetest puppy and would make a great pet!

More shout outs to our shining stars! We are so lucky to have the best of the best here at AES!

Unfortunately, due to the damage from the storm, we have to reschedule Dig in the Dirt. Please stay tuned for a new date later in the school year.

Mr. Hightower visits Ms. Hammond's 2nd grade class every week to read to them as part of Aiken Elementary's Real Men Read program. Today, he is reading Charlotte's Web. We are grateful for Mr. Hightower and all of the Real Men Read volunteers that visit our students every week.

Do you need a parents night out? Check out the flyer below for details through Aiken High School!

Great job to this week's McConnell's Mavericks! We cannot wait to celebrate with you!

Last week our 1st graders had a chance to vote for their favorite book character. The results are in and the winner is... Biscuit! Wonderful job first grade! Mrs.McConnell loves Biscuit too!
