Students at Byrd Elementary are getting ready to show what they know as SC READY testing approaches this May. Each spring, students across South Carolina participate in SC READY assessments to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the school year in reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
At Byrd Elementary, teachers and students have been working hard all year to build strong academic foundations. SC READY provides an opportunity for students to apply their learning, think critically, and demonstrate the progress they have made.
Testing will take place on the following dates for third, fourth, and fifth grade students:
May 5 – Writing
May 7 – Reading A
May 8 – Reading B
May 12 – Math A
May 14 – Math B
May 19 – Science (Fourth Grade Only)
Our teachers are continuing to prepare students by reinforcing strong reading strategies, problem solving skills, and writing techniques. More importantly, they are helping students approach testing with confidence and a positive mindset.
Families can help support their students by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, arrive at school on time, and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days. Encouragement and positive reminders from home can make a big difference in helping students feel calm and prepared.
