AIKEN — Caden Jenkins has a dream, and the financial aid he received May 11 will help him achieve it.
“My plan is to go to medical school toward becoming a physician,” he said. “I want to join alongside other physicians and help in bridging the health disparity gaps in the United States, specifically for African Americans.”
Jenkins and 24 others preparing to graduate soon from high school are the latest beneficiaries of Rotary Club of Aiken’s scholarship program, which is funded in large part by The Albrecht Family Charitable Trust.
Each student recipient of the scholarship will receive $7,500. In total, Rotary Club of Aiken awarded $187,500 in scholarships during their luncheon held at Newberry Hall.
