Silver Bluff High School shared an encouraging message before their Friday pep rally cheering on Lawrence, also known as Tank, and wishing him luck at the Super Bowl LX. Many gathered in support and a few shared words with the media recalling fond memories of the former Bulldog. Meredith Dandridge, his former English teacher, noted that he was "someone who would encourage someone if they needed it" and that "he knew he was destined for greatness." She recalled him not only a teammate on the field but in the classroom as well.
Last night, the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi's Stadium. Lawrence had a memorable performance with two tackles, a pass deflection, and a hit on the Patriots’ quarterback, Drake Maye.
Lawrence offered encouragement to young people watching his journey from Silver Bluff to the Super Bowl, particularly young athletes pursuing their dream.
“Yeah, kids, believe in your dream. Continue to chase it each and every day. Trust your parents. And, shoot, things will be successful,” Lawrence said. He also emphasized the importance of faith and perseverance when facing doubters.
“I encourage others, you know, just believing in yourself, you know. You know, it’s going to be a lot of haters out there, a lot of doubters that tell you you can’t amount to things, tell you you can’t do things,” Lawrence said. “But, you know, believing in yourself, putting God first, you know, and understanding that he wants you to succeed as much as you want to succeed.”
