On May 4th, students at Belvedere Elementary had the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the future of their school by signing one of the construction beams that will become part of the building's foundation.
Students ranging from 4K through fifth grade took part in the beam signing, each adding their name to a piece of the school's future.
"Many of the students don't remember what the original part of the school looked like before it was torn down to make room for the new addition. It's been exciting to experience that transition firsthand, to watch the building take shape, and to see the excitement from the students as the school continues to grow," said 4K-5th grade interventionist Heather Shuler-Carroll.
"This is a very special school. It's a great place, and honestly, I never want to leave. Signing the beam feels like leaving a piece of myself behind, and I hope I've made a positive impact on the students I've worked with over the years." Said 4th grade teacher Dee Brady.
