On October 16, Aiken Scholars Academy observed the National Day of Concern by participating in South Carolina’s 18th Annual Student Pledge Against Gun Violence. On this day, millions of students from around the country joined together in pledging to do their part to end gun violence. The event included speakers from the US Attorney General’s Office, Aiken Department of Public Safety, and USC Aiken’s Police Department. These speakers discussed school gun violence, responsible choices, and making good decisions. After the presentations, students were invited to sign the pledge against gun violence.
