The Aiken Scholars Academy is celebrating after receiving a 100 percent pass rate on the Biology End of Course Exam.
Located on the University of South Carolina Aiken campus in the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center, the academy opened in August and currently has 49 ninth-grade students.
“Our program is meant to serve the academically advanced students that reside in Aiken County so we have students attending from Aiken County public schools, from private schools, from home schools, from virtual programs,” Principal Martha Messick said. “They come to us from a very diverse background.”
In addition to the pass rate, 43 students received an A and six received a B. Thirty students finished the exam with a perfect score.
