District Now Accepting Aiken iNNOVATE Applications For 2023-24 Virtual Program
Aiken County Public Schools is pleased to announce 2023-24 enrollment for Aiken iNNOVATE(Ai), the district’s full-time virtual program for students in grades 6-12. Strong independent learners may apply for next school year’s virtual program by submitting their application Monday, January 9, through Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Aiken iNNOVATE began as a full-time virtual program during the coronavirus pandemic and remains an option for self-motivated middle and high school students who prefer online learning. Ai courses are led by the district’s own certified teachers through interactive live sessions that align with state standards.
Kaylie Ramsey, a current 10th grade student enrolled in Aiken iNNOVATE, shared “I would definitely recommend Aiken iNNOVATE because of the flexible schedule, the knowledge I’ve gained this past year, and the helpful and engaging teachers and staff.”
Dustin Fowler, Aiken iNNOVATE’s Virtual Learning Coordinator, has served on the program’s administrative team for the past three years and believes it offers students the best of both worlds. “Our students have the opportunity to learn in a flexible virtual environment designed to help meet their individual needs while still being able to participate in sports and activities at their zoned school,” he explained.
Students who wish to participate in Aiken iNNOVATE for the 2023-24 school year must be zoned to attend an Aiken County Public School and be in good academic standing. While students will be issued technology to participate in the live sessions and complete their coursework, reliable internet connectivity at the location in which the student will learn each day is critical.
Parents and students can learn more about Aiken iNNOVATE and apply for the 2023-24 school year by visiting the page on the district’s website https://www.acpsd.net/innovate. Interested students should complete their application by February 15, and will be notified of their acceptance status in March.
