  • MAKE-UP DAYS - Friday, October 19, 2018 & Monday, February 18, 2019, designated Weather Make-Up Days on the 2018-19 District Calendar, will be utilized to recoup instructional time lost due to school closings related to Hurricane Florence. The South Carolina Code of Laws requires school districts to designate annually at least three days within their school calendar to be used as make-up days in the event of snow, extreme weather conditions, or other conditions requiring schools to be closed. At a minimum, Aiken County Public Schools is required to make-up the first three days of school missed for an event of this nature.

  • BACKPACK PROGRAM- Every Friday, volunteers stuff various food items into the backpacks of some of our students as a supplement to their weekend meals to ensure that they come to school on Monday ready to learn!! Aiken El relies on the generosity of Churches such as Millbrook Elementary, St. Thaddeus, Levels Baptist Church, St Paul's, Greater Ministries and Kingdom Harvest Worship Center in the form of juice boxes, crackers, canned fruit and vegetables and breakfast items to sustain the backpack program.

If you, or your church, are interested in helping our backpack program by donating food items, please contact Keisha Uhle, our school counselor, to find out how you can help!!"
