Degrees and Certifications:

B.A. Secondary Education-English

Mr. Lucas Davila

Hi there!

I am excited to be a Thoroughbred during the 2021 school year. Only 2021, you ask? Yes! I have the pleasure of starting my teaching career mid-year with you! I recently graduated from the University of South Carolina Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Secondary Education and have been offered a position at this wonderful school. I will be teaching both English 3 Honors and Secondary Literacy (Read 180) classes. I am thrilled to get to know each and every one of you and become a part of the South Aiken family!

Unfortunately, my transition to this school has not come without its challenges. I realize that changing teachers is never easy, especially in the middle of the school year, and this year in particular brings with it a host of additional problems. There will undoubtedly be a period of adjustment as we all acclimate to this new arrangement, but I promise to do everything in my power to give you the best education possible.

Now, a little bit about me. I have lived in Aiken all my life with my wonderful, close-knit family, including its newest members, my 3-year-old niece Joey and 18-month-old niece Violet (pictured with me). I have always been very interested in the arts and enjoy digital and traditional art, music, literature, and film. I have even become interested in fashion recently, so if you see me in a jazzy shirt or tie one day, that’s why. I also enjoy playing easy, mindless phone games with my mom, our current favorites being Merge Dragons! and Merge Magic! Feel free to suggest your favorite games.

Again, I am beyond honored to be able to teach at South Aiken High and serve the young people and families of my community as an educator. We are all going to learn a lot of things this year, and I don’t just mean things like literature and grammar. We are going to learn how to be responsible; take initiative; remain adaptable; and, most of all, be kind.

My official office hours are from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. on Fridays.

Please do not hesitate to contact me through my school email ( with any questions or concerns you have. If I don’t have the answer, I’ll find someone who does!
