It is my honor and privilege once again to not only serve as the United Way coordinator for Aiken County Public Schools, but also as the Education Chair for the United Way of Aiken County.

For this year's campaign, I am Mike Rosier, United Way of Aiken County Education Division Chair by day, and "Bat-Mike" by night.

You are my team of SUPERHEROES, fighting for the education and well-being of the students in our community.

The pandemic hit with the ferocity of a category five hurricane. Immediately, the needs of our community took center stage. United Way and our partner agencies remained steadfast. More needs, more services. Food insecurity, healthcare, shelter all became a focus. Delivery of services changed to adhere to social distancing guidelines and protocols. Virtual platforms became the norm. Now more than ever, we need your support! The pandemic has exhausted financial resources which must be replenished. Now more than ever, we need you to be a hero and help us fund our 30 partner agencies and 45 critical need programs.

If COVID-19 has taught us one thing, it is that not all superheroes wear capes. Some wear scrubs, some wear hard hats and work boots, some wear all brown and drive a big brown truck, some wear polo shirts and dress slacks, and some have been wearing dress shirts and sweatpants as we work from home. Some also teach school, drive buses, serve meals, and make our buildings safe.

Every community has these heroes, but here in Aiken County Public Schools we happen to think ours are the best! We want this campaign to be about celebrating the everyday heroes of our school district and our mission everyday! Let's all LIVE UNITED!
