Millbrook Elementary is located on the south side of Aiken, South Carolina, and serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Completed in 1953, Millbrook's initial campus consisted of ten classrooms and quickly proved to be insufficient to accommodate the growing number of students and the subsequent overcrowding here and in other schools.
In 1960 and 1964, additional wings were built, and mobile units have been used through the years to relieve overcrowded conditions.
A new building was erected in 1993 and currently houses the administrative offices, media center, two kindergarten classrooms, first grade classrooms, the guidance office and a Computer Assisted Instruction Lab. All of the original buildings are still being used and house our second and third grade classrooms, art, music, science lab, speech classrooms, one self-contained special education classroom, guidance classroom, PTA room and the school store. Mobile units are being used to house additional classrooms. Construction for an additional wing was started in 2006 and is now complete. The new wing houses the cafeteria, fourth and fifth grade classrooms and the mobile laptop computer lab.
