Mrs. Michelle Hughes

Hello! My name is Michelle Hughes, and I'm thrilled to say this is my 22nd year teaching high school Math. I grew up in Wisconsin and graduated with a  Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse. I later earned my Master of Education with an emphasis in technology from Marian University. I have spent the majority of my teaching career in the School District of Slinger teaching every possible math class a student could take ranging from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. I have taught AP Calculus AB for the past six years in this district before moving to Aiken, South Carolina. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach at the Aiken Scholars Academy and to be your student’s AP Calculus BC teacher.

My family and I are made the move from Wisconsin to South Carolina during the winter break. We are delighted to finally be making the move, and we are eager for the new opportunities and adventures that we will encounter in Aiken. I enjoy exercising (biking and yoga), reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family.

Your student’s success is important to me and I look forward to working with you this semester.

Summer 2020

I am very excited to state that I will be teaching full time next year at Aiken Scholars Academy.  I will have the opportunity first semester to teach our scholar Algebra 2 or AP Calculus BC.  If you are looking for some math review over the summer Khan Academy is an excellent resource for video lessons and practice.

My family and I will be spending our summer in Wisconsin with family, friends, and cooler temperatures.  I am looking forward to returning for the 2020-21 school year.
