I try to make the creating of art relative and exciting to my students. I love art history, the studies of different cultures, and exploring the reasons why humans create art. A lifelong hobby of mine is history and social studies. I love learning about ancient cultures through the artifacts that have been left behind as evidence of who and what they were. Theses art pieces, whether architectural or fine crafts, give us a window to these ancient peoples.

I want to try to empower students though the creation of art to share their thoughts, dreams, and reflections. This would include disappointments and heartaches as well.

Art can be a powerful communicator and a healthy way to reach out about thoughts and feelings.
