Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Alecia Browning is an Aiken County native. She married Brad Browning of Jacksonville, Florida in August of 2014. The two had their first child, Lucas, in March of 2017. The three of them reside in New Ellenton, South Carolina with their two boxers, Molly and Gracie, two horses, Angel and Mikey, four cows, and three chickens.
Mrs. Browning graduated from the University of South Carolina-Aiken in May of 2011 with her Bachelor of Arts in Middle Level Education-Concentrations in Math and ELA. She is Middle Level Certified as well as Highly Qualified as determined by the South Carolina Board of Education. In May of 2014, she successfully completed her Master’s Program with a degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Wesleyan University. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Curriculum and Assessment.
Mrs. Browning spent six years at Leavelle McCampbell Middle School (2011-2017). During this time, she taught 6th grade ELA, 6th grade math, 7th grade math, and 6th/7th grade Pre-Algebra. She has served on the Leadership Team as the 7th Grade Representative for 3 years, the Cheerleading Coach for 5 1/2 years, a SAFE-T Evaluator for 2 years, and a CERRA mentor. She participated in Aiken County’s Curriculum Team for two years to help ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum to be used among all middle school math teachers in the county. The last two years (2017-2019) Mrs. Browning helped start the middle school program at Midland Valley Christian Academy. During these two years, she taught 6th grade math and science, 7th grade Pre-Algebra, science, and social studies, and eighth grade Algebra 1.
Math has always been Mrs. Browning's favorite subject. She is always looking for new ways and ideas to present mathematics concepts to her students that go beyond the cut and dry. She started using Interactive Notebooks in her classroom as a teaching tool and resource for her students in 2015. She loves her students, and does her best to support them wherever the need may be. She looks forward to many more years in education and is excited to be back in public school.
Mrs. Browning enjoys being a wife, a mom to her son Lucas, and a youth leader at her church. She loves traveling, music of all genres, bright colors, Gamecocks and Dallas Cowboys Football, and of course teaching, learning, and supporting her “kids.” Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, favorite color is pink, and she likes to drink red Gatorade and Dr. Pepper. Her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. She loves all things Harry Potter especially Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. You can often find her in the office supply section of any store because she loves pens, post-it notes, and calculators. School supply shopping is her favorite time of year. Mrs. Browning is passionate about her job and is excited to join the LBC Lions family and looks forward to many successful years.
