Mrs. Christa Franklin
Welcome to Early Childhood Education! I am so excited to be sharing my teaching experiences with my students. I have taught for 15 years in a variety of settings as a certified teacher in a public school system, and have had additional teaching experiences as well.
This is my second year at Aiken High, and I am so excited to be back. I look forward to inspiring my students to consider teaching as a career. When I was in high school, I took a CATE Early Childhood Education class that prepared me for work in an daycare or preschool setting, but it also pushed me to consider teaching as a wider career. I have now come full circle and am teaching in the program that inspired me. Teaching is my passion and calling, and if I can share that passion with my students, I have done my job!
I attended Niwot High School and the St. Vrain Valley Career Development Center, and graduated in the top 10% of my class. I went to Mid-Atlantic Christian University (formerly Roanoke Bible College) for my Bachelor's Degree and graduated as Valedictorian, with a degree in Elementary Education. I attended Norfolk State University to obtain a Master's of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education and my Virginia Teaching Certificate. I have just completed taking the additional courses needed to obtain my CATE Early Childhood Education certification through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (GPIDEA) and Texas Tech University.
After teaching for 1 year in Norfolk, VA, my husband and I moved to South Carolina. I have been in South Carolina for 18 years, and look forward to being a part of the Aiken High family for many years to come!
