Welcome to my 4K page here at North Augusta Elementary! Ms. Rawlins and I are loving getting to know you and your child in our class. We are off to a great start!
My name is LaShonda Robertson, and I have been teaching since December 1999. I took some time off to raise my children, and returned back to work full-time last year since having my own children. I am more excited than ever to teach your child this year! I have three beautiful and phenomenal children and am blessed to be married for 16 years to an amazing husband. My three kiddos have all been "my best teachers" and my "greatest accomplishments."
I am a graduate from the University of South Carolina, where I received both my Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Masters Degree in Elementary Education, and I love the Gamecocks! I have also taken my other courses since then from College of Charleston. Previously, I have taught, fourth grade, third grade, and kindergarten. I spent most of my teaching career teaching Kindergarten. I have always wanted to teach Pre-K, so when the opportunity presented itself, I was more than excited to begin a new chapter teaching the grade level of my dreams!
I actually started right here at North Augusta Elementary first as a student. Then after graduating from college, I completed my student teaching, and my first two years of teaching right here in this building! I then spent the remaining years of my teaching career at Hammond Hill Elementary as a Kindergarten teacher. So, North Augusta is "home" for me even though I live in Evans, GA!
My amazing assistant is Dianne Rawlins. Ms. Rawlins is truly my right hand! We work really well together and have known each other since I started teaching in 1999. In fact, I taught her beautiful daughter who is now teaching little ones! Ms. Rawlins has been here at North Augusta Elementary for 22 years. She has two beautiful children who are her pride and joy as well, and she has been blessed to be married to her amazing husband for 36 years. Ms. Rawlins is a die hard Georgia fan and love working with children! Go dawgs!
We will be in constant communication with you throughout the year. Please be sure to check your child's communication folder daily. Ms. Rawlins checks these first thing in the mornig. Although I will send out weekly reminders/information as needed that will answer most questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at any time! Please email (firstname.lastname@example.org), send a message through the Remind app (Ms. Robertson's 4K Class), or send a note in your child's folder as the best and quickest way to contact me. You may also call the school at (803)442-6280. I am more than happy to help any time!
Thank you for sharing your child with us this year!
