Mr. George J. Weber
I am a Pennsylvania native who relocated to Georgia after military service. I currently reside in Georgia. I am married with one adopted son who now resides in Flordia. I have one dog and one cat.
I am an avid reader who learned to read before personnal computers, internet, and search engines were a reality. My most prized possession was my library card. This opened the world of books. And I won a set of encyclopedias at age 11 and this further opened my world. Today, I still enjoy reading. I read fifth grade books in addition to works of fiction (Grisham, King, and others) and history. When it comes to food, I especially like Chick-Fil-A and Italian food. When it comes to other things I like to do, I like to visit Civil War battlefields.
I spent 22 years in the Navy and then retired. I started as a yeoman (administrative person), but then converted to a quartermaster (navigation of ships and logistics of ship movement). I have visited Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Africa, and the Middle East.
I left Pennsylvania to leave the cold, snow, and ice.
When I joined the faculty of Oakwood-Windsor Elementary, I taught science and social studies in fifth grade. This year I am self contained and teach mathematics, ELA, science, and social studies. Prior to teaching here in South Carolina, I taught in Georgia. I currently hold a Bachelors Degree in History, a Masters Degree in Public Adminstration and a Masters Degree in Education.
