• Chukker Creek Media Center

YOUR place to READ, learn, create, explore, collaborate, participate, and check out books!

Library Staff:  Ms. Curtis and Ms. Gray

Hours: The media center is open daily from 7:30-3:00. The media center operates on a fixed/flexible schedule.  Scheduled classes visit weekly. Daily open times are offered as well.

Book Care:  At the elementary level, students are taught the proper way to handle and take care of books.  A very real concern for us is water bottles in bookbags. Water bottles often leak and books suffer damage as a result.  Please help us maintain our library collection by reminding students to not place water bottles in bookbags. Thank you for your help with this.

South Carolina Book Awards:  Chukker Creek proudly participates in the South Carolina Book Awards Program.  Voting for our favorite books takes place in February and the winning titles are announced at the state level in March.

Chukker Creek proudly hosts two book fairs each year, one in the fall and another in the spring.  Building a home library is very important and book fairs help families do just that!  Profits from our book fairs are used to purchase new library books and maintain our Accelerated Reader program.  We always need volunteers so please consider contributing some of your time.

CCE students are proud participants in the SC Book Awards Program.  We read books nominated in the Picture and Children's Book Award categories and voting for our CCE favorite takes place in February.  During the 2019-2020 school year, the picture book that received the most votes in the state is Creepy Pair of Underwear.  The children's book that received the most votes is Real Friends.  Which book will win top honors this school year?  YOU will help decide.  Let's get reading CCE!

Come celebrate with us! Four reading celebrations are held each year (at the end of each quarter.)  Students who meet or exceed their individual reading goals are invited.  We always have a wonderful time.  We hope to see you there!
