Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Katie Howell
Hello All- I hope every one is well and safe. Friday May 1st is Packet #2 dropoff and Packet #3 pickup. This will be the last packet of our distance learning for the year. Please make sure packet 2 gets dropped off for those who are completing the work paper and pencil. If you are working online or sending pictures to your students do not worry about dropping anything off. On Friday, students will have the opportunity to enter the school building and go to their lockers for any personal belongings that they may have.
Packet #3 focuses on Geometry. We did not have a lot of time together with geometry. So please reach out for help! I will try to find some helpful resources and sites to help with the different assignments in Packet 3. Packet 3 allows you to choose what lessons you want to complete. When you have complete 21 points, you have completed the packet. You do not have to do every assignment, only 21 points worth. I will send out and upload notes on geometry to help with the different assignments. BUT please do not be afraid to ask for help!
I will be posting resources that your student can do from home to help better understand the content from 7th grade distance learning assignments. Remember these materials are a requirement as they are part of the distance learning we must accomplish. Students should take these materials seriously and do the best possible work as they will be graded the same way. Many of the links and programs listed have instructional videos and explanations. Also I will include a list of different online programs that your student can used while we are missing in class instruction. PLEASE, do not hesitate to reach out to me via email, Remind, Schoology for help! I will help in any way possible as we work through the situation we find ourselves in. Please take care of yourself and stay safe.

Mrs. Howell's background information:
I have been teaching for 7 years, and this will be my second year in Aiken County Schools. I recieved my teaching degree from Cleveland State University in Ohio where I taught my first two years. After moving to South Carolina I taught for 3 years at Newberry Middle School teaching 7th grade math, and last year I taught 8th grade math and Geometry at Aiken Middle School. I am super excited to be a Yellow Jacket. This past August we welcomed our first child, Logan Bruce into our family.
I absolutlely love teaching math and getting students engaged into the subject as well. It is my hope that students not only leave my class with a better understanding of mathematics, but also growing as a young adult. I cannot wait to work with all of my students and continue to push mathematical literacy in Aiken Schools!
