Mr. Joseph Chandler

My name is Joseph Chandler.  As the Synergistic Lab Aide, I am blessed and look forward to working and helping each of YOU for my second year at Jackson STEM Middle School.  In the Synergistic Lab, the students actually get to go from textbook theory to reality, hands-on experiences in 13 different areas or modules of focus in the class.

We are here to help YOU Reach Your Full Potential!  YOU are Very Important! YOU Can Achieve Great Things and Make a Positive Difference in Our World!

2017-2018 school year was my first year on staff at Jackson STEM Middle School as the Synergistic Lab Aide.  I am honored to be at such a Great School.  The 2016-2017 school year I served as a Substitute Teacher with the Aiken County Public School District so at times I could be serving in many roles and locations at Jackson STEM Middle School.

Before coming to the Aiken County Public School District, I have served over 40 years within Emergency Services of Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement.  I started as a Firefighter at Bath Fire Dept. (now the Midland Valley Fire Dept.) back in 1978 while I was a Senior at LBC High School.  I have worked with Aiken County EMS, Aiken Public Safety, Aiken County Sheriff Office as well as service as a Reserve Police Officer with Jackson Police Dept. I have also worked as a professional Scout with the Boy Scouts of America as the District Executive for Edgefield, Aiken and Barnwell Counties.  Some of my other volunteer work has been with the Jackson Fire Dept. and Jackson First Alert Rescue Squad since moving to Jackson in 1996. I retired from the Savannah River Site in 2012 after nearly 25 years there working mostly as a Paramedic-Firefighter.  I was first certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1980 and as a Paramedic in 1985.  I served for 31 years as a certified Paramedic unitl August 2016.  Over the last 40 plus years I have national certifications as a Fire Fighter I & II, Instructor I, Fire Officer I and Haz-Mat Technician just to name a few.  Today I continue as a state and National Certified Emergency Medical Technician and lead the STEM Club for First Aid/CPR at Jackson STEM Middle School.

As far as other schooling and training beside Emergency Services, I graduated from LBC High School back in 1979.  I am also a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Aiken (Associate in Science in Criminal Justice, 1983), Liberty University (Advanced Bible Studies Diploma, 1990) American Bible College & Seminary (Bachelor of Theology, 1991) American Bible College & Seminary (Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, 1996) Master’s International School of Divinity (Doctorate in Practical Ministry in Chaplaincy, 2001) Liberty University (Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies {Cum Laude}, 2008) Master's International University of Divinity (Bachelor of Arts Certificate in Hebraic Rooots of Christianity, 2018)

I have been married to my wonderful wife, Deidra, for over 36 years.  I have three outstanding grown children ranging from age 33 to 28 as well as grandchildren.  I have been ordained in the ministry since 1995 and have served in a number of different ministry positions and currently serve as the Pastor of Capers Chapel in Beech Island, SC.

I look forward to serving each one at Jackson STEM Middle School.  YOU All are Very Special People!
