Ellaine Alcantara

I am very glad to be part of Kennedy Eagles this school year! I am an international special education teacher from the Philippines. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education Major in Special Education in my home country and currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Special Education. I earned Certificate in Autism from Autism Resource Center (Singapore) and completed Basic Course in American Sign Language-Intermediate Level from Augusta University. I am proud that this is my 12th year as an educator. I taught in the Philippines for 1 year, 4 years in Singapore and 6 years at Belvedere Elementary here in Aiken County. I love ALL my students. I may be their teacher but they are teaching me great lessons in life more than I could have ever imagined. I believe in my students’ potential and celebrate big and small progress.  Everyone is unique and special in our own little ways and just the way we are! I am excited to be part of Unified Champion Schools - Special Olympics that advocates for acceptance, respect and inclusion.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Joseph and have 2 beautiful children. Elaisha is 8 years old and Matthew is 4 years old. As a family, we love to travel and enjoy nature, watch family movies and just goofing around. Outside school, I love to listen to music and tranquil moments as an opportunity to reflect and appreciate little things in life.

I will send updates and communicate through communication folder/agenda book. Please feel free to contact me for any questions or concerns and I will try to get back to you within 24 hours.

Looking forward to a year full of love, fun and learning. Let's COMMIT for OPEN COMMUNICATION and TOGETHER we make a TEAM!
