Mrs. Allison Boggess
Hi! My name is Mrs. Boggess (formerly Ms. Broadwater) and I am sad to see the 2018-2019 school year end but excited for the summer of 2019! I will be at Leavelle McCampbell this summer teaching with the Math & ELA Acceleration Program and keeping the LMMS spirit alive! If you're in the area, stop in for a visit. Meanwhile, I'll be counting the days until the 2019-2020 school year begins!
I am relatively new to the state of South Carolina and Aiken County. This my third year at LMMS and seventh year teaching middle school science; I previously taught in Boston, MA, and Pittsburgh, PA. I love teaching science because it's hands-on and always growing. I encourage students to engage in science through building, testing, debating, creating, and investgating. A native of West Virginia (go Mountaineers!), I studied neuroscience at Wellesley College and earned my Masters in Education from Vanderbilt University. I thrive in a classroom that is active and engaged; my students should come in ready to challenge themselves and discover new knowledge!
Besides traveling, I also love spending time outdoors. In 2015, my husband and I completed a thru-hike of the entire Appalachian Trail, hiking 2,200 miles from Georgia all the way to Maine over the course of seven months. I am no stranger to persistance- or getting dirty!
I am thrilled to be at LMMS this year and can't wait for all the adventures the year will bring. I also can't wait to learn all about Graniteville and the Aiken area from the LMMS community. Please stop in and introduce yourself and teach me all about yourselves and our area!
