Mrs. Jamie Hatchett
This is my fifth year teaching at SAHS. My husband is a professor at USCA in the health science department, my eldest daughter is a sophmore at SAHS, and my youngest daughter is in 8th grade at Tall Pines Stem Academy.
I am very excited to teach each and every one of you and I am looking forward to a great year. As a science student, it is essential to engage and interact with the subject matter. For this reason, I like to offer students many laboratory experiences from which to explore and learn. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Prior to teaching, I was a marine biologist. I was able to spend 10 years in the field before teaching. I have worked with a variety of animals, including sharks, rays, sea turtles, and marine mammals. I gained many experiences and knowledge during this time and I enjoy incorporating these into my lessons.
It is my goal this year to offer students a greater understanding of the subject and to leave class with a more in-depth understanding and respect for the world around us.
I am looking forward to a great year!
