Mrs. Jamie Hatchett
This is my fourth year teaching at SAHS. My husband is a professor at USCA in the health science department, my eldest daughter will be joining us at South Aiken this upcoming school year, and my youngest daughter attends Tall Pines Stem Academy.
I am very excited to teach each and everyone of you and I am looking forward to a great year. As a science student, it is essential to engage and interact with the subject matter. For this reason, I like to offer students many laboratory experiences from which to explore and learn. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Prior to teaching, I was a marine biologist. I was able to spend 10 years in the field before teaching. I have worked with a variety of animals, including sharks, rays, sea turtles, and marine mammals. I gained many experiences and knowledge during this time and I enjoy incorporating these into my lessons.
As a science teacher, it is my goal to offer students a greater understanding of the subject and to leave class with a greater understanding and respect for the world around us.
I am looking forward to a great year!
