Mrs. Alicia K. Moody

Hi! I am Alicia Moody and I am excited to start my second year at A.L. Corbett in 7th grade Science. In the next 190 days you will find that I am a teacher that has very high expectations for all students, all of the time. I have never been disappointed by a child that tries their best. Prior to teaching here, I spent 3 years in Lexington School District 2.

I am a "Carolina Girl" in its truest sense! Born in Darlington County, but educated in the wonderful schools of Orangeburg District 4 I have lived in South Carolina my entire life. I graduated from Edisto High School in 2001. I loved growing up in a rural community much like Wagener. My "Carolina Girl" stories continues as I went to college at The University of South Carolina in Columbia making me a FIGHTING GAMECOCK. I earned my Master's degree from Webster University in 2013.

I absolutely adore the people that are in my life!!! I am married to Shamari Moody, he is the new Principal at Allendale-Fairfax Middle School. He actually taught Math at Leavelle McCampbell in Aiken County for several years. He has been my greatest inspiration and motivation for changing my career to education 5 years ago. I have the honor of being  the mother of 3 wonderful children. Channing, 8 is my eldest. She is very sweet, super intelligent, and self-motivated. Kallie is my second daughter, she is 5. I would describe her as fearless, and caring with a very large vocabulary. Kirkland, is my only son and he is awesome, perfectly awesmome. He is three and completes our family.

As my students will tell you, Education is my family's legacy. I married one of the best educational leaders in education. My mom has taught at Blackville-Hilda High School for 32 years, most of her siblings are educators. We run the gamut from college professors to school district directors. Our family conversations always involve making a positive impact on education, moving students forward, and ensuring today's students are prepared for tomorrow's challenges. We are passionate and intentional about our legacy in education.

My hobbies are shopping, couponing, and sports. I love football and politics.
