Aiken High Baseball
On behalf of the Aiken High Baseball Program, we are excited to have you in the Hornet family for the 2019-2020 academic and athletic year. We have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on others that will last long after you have collected your diploma. During your time with us, you will be challenged to excel in the classroom as well as on the field. The next four years we will challenge you to grow not only as a ball player but also as a better individual. In everything you do, remember that you represent your family, friend’s, teammates, our program and our school. The administration, coaching staff and support staff are committed to doing all that we can to help you seize every opportunity while you are here with us. It is your responsibly to dedicate yourself to graduating on time, competing to a high level in competition, and staying committed to your own personal development. Degrees and Certifications:
Coach Will Howard is entering his fifth season as the head coach of the Hornet Baseball Program. Howard was named the head coach in July of 2016. Prior to coaching at Aiken, Howard was the head coach at Silver Bluff high school from 2014-2015.
Howard attended Camden High School (SC) where he lettered 4 years in both Baseball and Football for the bulldogs. After High school, Howard attended Wingate University to further his baseball career. After two seasons with the Bulldogs, Howard left to attend USC Columbia to advance his academic career obtaining a degree in Physical Education. Howard currently teaches Physical Education and Coaches in the Aiken County School District.
In 2010 Howard was an assistant coach at South Aiken High school working with outfielders and hitters. In 2013, Howard worked for The University of South Carolina Baseball program, helping with game day operations for the Gamecocks
In 2016 Howard was an assistant coach for the Post 26 Junior legion team, which finished 4th in the state with an overall record of 20-2. In 2017 Howard headed the Junior Legion team finishing third in the state with an overall record of 22-4, becoming the league VIII champions both years running.
During his four seasons at Aiken. Howard has led the Hornets program consistently to four state playoff appearances, with the last two seasons playing for two District Championships.
