Mr. Darrah B. Densmore

Greetings! I am excited to teach Government, Economics, and Global Perspectives in my fourth year at Aiken High. I also serve as head coach of the three-time defending district champion Aiken High School Academic Team.

As a native South Carolinian, I am a proud product of our state's public education system. I have taken a non-traditonal route to the head of the classroom via a legal and corporate career path, but it is now my high privilege to be doing all I ever really wanted to do; namely, to make a postive impact upon the lives of young people and share with them my deep respect and appreciation for learning.

You are welcome to peruse any of the posted course materials by navigating the menus on this page. Information concerning assessments and other assignments, due dates, grading, and so forth is posted in PowerSchool and updated regularly.

I am best reached via email. I check it regularly and endeavor to return all inquiries promptly.

I look forward to enjoying another great year at The High!

NOTICE: The COVID-19 pandemic emergency will disrupt ordinary school activities for at least the next two weeks, and perhaps for the forseeable future. In the interest of streamlining our distance learning activities, all of my classes will use the packets provided by the school district. To access a PDF of your packet, click the appropriate link below.

You may complete these assignments at your own pace and turn them in upon our return to school. This arrangement may be amended if circumstances change (id est, if the school closure is extended significantly).

I am happy to assist you remotely as you complete your distance learning assignments. While virtual office hours are "officially" scheduled between 9-11 AM and 1-3 PM on school days, feel free to email anytime and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

You probably will find your textbook helpful for the completion of distance learning assignments. For your convenience, digital versions of the textbooks for Government and World Geography are provided in the McGraw-Hill app within your Clever account.

Pending good availability of videoconferencing resources, I will make arrangements to meet with students virtually while the school is closed. If such arrangements prove unfeasible, I will maintain consistent attention to email in any case, and may employ other online resources (Schoology, Remind, Skype, etc.). Information concerning such virtual meetings will be provided in the coming days. Check your school email account often and watch this space for changes.

I will miss you all while we're out and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Stay safe and well!

Mr. D
