Education:

First Sergeant Johnson is a native of Johnston, SC. He graduated from Strom Thurmond High School in May 1988.  He continued his education while in the Marine Corps and later graduated from Park University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management/HR.

Military Biography:

First Sergeant Johnson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on, September 28, 1988, and attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, SC.  Throughout his career, he served as a KC-130 Aircraft Airframes Mechanic (6256), a formal school instructor for KC-130s,  Corporal Leadership Course Instructor, Marine Recruiter (8411), and infantry company first sergeant (9999). After 20 years of service which included 3 deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and visiting over 20 different countries, he retired from active duty on, January 31, 2009.  After retiring and before returning back to South Carolina, he was also a Marine Corps JROTC instructor for 3 years at Westover High School located in Albany, GA.
