Hello parents and students,

My name is Brandi Davenport. One thing I can say it feels great to be back at the hornets nest. I am an alumni of Aiken High School. I graduated in 1998. I received my bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of South Carolina- Aiken in 2011. I worked for ACPSD as a special education paraeducator at NEMS for five years. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Masters in Special Education:Cross-Categorical in 2016. I teach Employability Education I-II, Essentials of English I-IV and Essentials of Math I-IV to students enrolled in the CDOC(Career Developmnt and Occupational Credential) and/or our newest program the  SCHSC(South Carolina High School Credential). I am pleased to be working with your child. I will use every opportunity to ensure that they are in a safe, engaging learning environment.

My planning periods are 5th and 7th periods. Typically, that is around 12:21-1:42(5th period) and 2:41-3:30(7th period). If you have any concerns please call me at 803-641-2500 to make an apppointment to meet during those times. I also have a cell phone number that I use for parents and students only. You can text or call that number as well. Communication with the parent is important to me. It helps us stay connected with information that needs to be shared immediately about your child.                                                                                    ACPSD COVID-19 Student Packet/Parent Informational

Hello parents and students, I texted a copy of this letter to you or your child on 3-18-2020 to ensure you all have the necessary information while we are out due to the COVID-19. I also printed a hard copy and put it in a red folder for your child.

 

This folder can picked up at Aiken High School on Thursday from 12-7 or Friday from 8-4. ***If you are unable to come get your packet please let me know so arrangements can made as soon as possible.

 

We want to continue active learning while we are out of the classroom and deliver distance learning for the students by phone, video chat, email or conference call. Remember these calls are strictly to discuss the assignment therefore our timeframe will be short.

 

I will make two attempts to call you every week between the hours of 9-11 and 1-3 M-F.

 

Keep in mind there is no school on Monday.

 

I will start reaching out to students on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

 

I also placed some scholastic books in the packet for additional reading material.

 

Please keep up with all assignments and place them back in your folder when you are finished. So I can grade the assignments when your schools reconvenes again.
