Greetings!

My name is Gary Asbill, and I am entering my 7th year as a teacher at Aiken High School, my first as a PE teacher. I served as an English teacher for 5 years before entering the realm of Physical Education. I am also entering my 10th year as a teacher, overall, and I am the head baseball coach here at Aiken High School. I graduated from the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in English and a minor in Business Management. I continued my education and was able to earn a Masters degree from the University of Concordia Portland in Curriculum and Instruction in 2014. I also earned an additional Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2020. 

In addition to coaching, I serve as an area scout for The Diamond Prospects, the state coverage company for high school baseball in South Carolina. In the summers and fall, I serve as the head baseball coach for Canes Scout 16U, a national showcase team geared towards assisting student-athletes in continuing their academics and baseball play at the next level.

I currently live in Aiken with my wife, Amanda, and our pup, Kallie.
