Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary School can be found in a small farming community named Ridge Spring. The town, founded in 1771, is located on a "ridge" or "fall line" and the "spring" is still located behind a church in town. Ridge Spring can be found about half way between Columbia, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia - it's about 40 miles either way. Located in Saluda County, the school serves students from four counties: Aiken, Saluda, Edgefield, and Lexington. The area is generally rural and consists of row crops and peach farms. Several small towns are located in this area: Monetta, Ridge Spring, and Ward. The largest is Ridge Spring.
