S. Roxanne Hyer- Principal

Welcome to Gloverville Elementary School! My name is Roxanne Hyer, and I am honored to have been chosen as your Principal for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. After graduating from University of South Carolina Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, I began my teaching career in a 2nd grade classroom at a local private school. A couple of years later, my family and I moved to Georgia where I spent 9 years in Columbia County. My experience in Georgia involved various roles that included teaching grades 1st and 5th, Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Principal. During that time, I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. After building a house in the in the North Augusta area, I moved from Columbia County to Aiken County to serve as the Assistant Principal of J.D. Lever Elementary School.

My husband, Jason, and I have 3 beautiful girls Megan, Maxine, and Marcie. My family is actively involved in sports and are always on the go. We attend Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, playing my violin, and singing. I am so thankful God has brought me to Gloverville Elementary School. I look forward to being a part of the Gloverville family while serving this school and this community!

Ms. Peggy Colman-Assistant Principal

After working in the medical field for 15 years, I returned to school to pursue a degree in education.   After  graduating from the University of South Carolina--Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1998, I taught three years at New Ellenton Middle School and four years at Gloverville Elementary.  I completed my Masters of Educational Administration in 2004 from the University of South Carolina - Columbia.  In August of 2005 I became Assistant Principal at Redcliffe Elementary.  I later moved to a split AP position between Gloverville Elementary and Jefferson Elementary.  In 2013, I became the full-time Assistant Principal at Jefferson Elementary. It was an honor to be named Assistant Principal at Gloverville starting the 2018-19 school year.  To me it is like returning home.

I have a wonderful husband named Pepper Coleman.  We have two sons, two daughter-in-laws, two wonderful granddaughters, a dog, a cat, and a 29 year old turtle. I am proud to admit that I am a product of Aiken County Schools.  My heart belongs to the wonderful students, parents, community, and the faculty/staff of all who live and work for Aiken County Public Schools.
