Welcome to Mrs. Drake's Class!

"The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you." --B.B. King

Hey everyone! I will be available for anyone with packet/lesson/activity questions, or if you just want to check in and chat. If you are not on Bloomz, there are 2 other ways you can get in touch with me:

You may call or text me anytime at 803-339-0130. Please save this number in your phone! :)

Or you may do a conference call/video chat between 9am and 11am or between 1pm and 3pm on any school day. Here's how:
**For a call in conference (for conference calls, without video, multiple people can talk with me at the same time):
Dial 425-436-6331 When prompted, use access code 291722

**For a video conference (if you need me to show or explain something visually) you can access it one of two ways:
1. Download the Freeconferencecall app on your mobile device, open it and click join online meeting, using the meeting ID llantz0 (that is a zero at the end) OR
2. Go to :
(You may still have to download the free app first, but that should take you straight in...if it asks, the meeting ID is llantz0)
I will keep the video/conference meeting open during the above times so I can hopefully see when someone joins. :)
If you have any trouble, please email, call, text, or private message me.  Thanks!

Stay Safe!! Love and miss you all! ♥

A little about me... this is my 19th year of molding young minds.  I am a product of Redcliffe Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and Silver Bluff High School, as is my son, so I am no stranger to the wonderful things that are happening in this community and in these schools. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina at Aiken and my Master's Degree in Creative Arts in Education from Lesley University.  I want your child to enjoy coming to school each and every day, and would like to make your child's classroom environment a pleasant one, filled with rich experiences, challenging projects, loads of achievements, and lasting friendships.  In order to accomplish this task, I feel it is particularly important to develop and maintain a year of classroom involvement with our parents and families.  You will be the first to know whether your child is enjoying school, whether your child needs special attention in a specific subject, or whether your child's relationship with a friend is affecting his/her academic development. My committment to your child's success is genuine, and parent involvement is essential to your child's education--both academically and behaviorally.  It is important for us to build a strong relationship with one another for several reasons: to motivate, nurture, and support your child, to build self-esteem in your child, to reach common goals together, to work through difficulties that may arise, to see that your child enjoys the mental, physical, and social activities at school, and to make sure that your chld learns and becomes responsible.  I invite you to participate as much as possible, and I thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and for your involvement!
