Welcome to my webpage! I am so very glad you came by to visit me!
I'd like to share a little about myself. I am originally from a little suburb of Philadelphia, Pa. I attended elementary school, junior high, and senior high all in the same town. I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten in my home town Christian school upon graduating. The income from teaching in private school is tough for a single girl to live on, so I began looking around the country for public schools that sounded interesting. I had family that I visited every summer in Aiken so I thought it might be nice to at least try to find a position there. That was 27 years ago! I am now more "southern" than "northern"!
The first school that I taught in here in Aiken County was Byrd Elementary. It was while I was there that I met my husband and had my first child. I moved on to Warrenville Elementary after my baby boy turned one to soon find out that baby number two was coming along not too long after!
Our family resides in Aiken. We have an Australian Shepherd and a Finnish Lapphund. They are herding dogs. We do not have cattle but they love to run our fenceline after our neighbors horses! We also have a very serene koi pond with a beautiful waterfall that my husband dug out all by himself several years ago. So many nights I go outside to just swing and listen to the beautiful sounds of the falling water or watch the colorful koi swim around...so peaceful.
In 2011, I decided to pursue a Masters degree from Liberty University. In May 2013, I walked with my graduating class to receive my Masters of Education in Early Childhood Curriculum and Design at the famous Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA (Liberty University). I was so very proud of making such a giant professional and personal leap of faith.
I really don't have any specific hobbies so to say. I enjoy being with my family, both near and far. I always like to try out new restaurants or foods (at least once!) I love to shop at any great mall, boutique (or TJ Maxx!) and shop on-line, and I love my Kinder-Babies (every last one of them)!
