Hello!  Thank you for visiting my page!

This will be my 26th year of teaching, 25 of these are here on "The Ridge".  My mother, Gwen Carey, began her teaching career here on the Ridge, teaching 2nd grade many, many years ago.  My father, Lyndon Carey, was the principal here for many years, so you can say that the Ridge was part of home.  The best thing about this school is, I really do know so many wonderful families and taught a lot of the parents of children that I taught in general education before moving to special education. This is a family-oriented community and school that keeps me coming back year after year!

I taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th in the general education population before moving into the special education area in 2016-2017 where I felt a strong calling.  I have truly found a new love of teaching as I am inspired every day by these very special young people who have stolen my heart and bless me every day.

My husband Ronnie and I live in New Holland with our boxer, Piper and our new yellow lab, Charlie. We have a blended family of five children and eight grandchildren, five of which attend school here on The Ridge.  In my down time I enjoy reading, painting, staying home and relaxing, and, of course, cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks!!!
