Welcome to my page!  I am so excited that you have the opportunity to get to know me, as I most certainly get to be such a big part of your child's First Grade life! 

Hmm.... What would you like to know? I am guessing that you would like to get to know me as the teacher your child will be spending so much time with. 

First of all, as long as I have been working, I have ALWAYS worked with children.  I never had a job that did not involve children. I am a graduate of Augusta State University (Class of 1999) just across the river on the Georgia side.  I have a BA in Early Childhood Education.  I received my first teaching job at Aiken Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher.  I worked at AES for 16 years.  I spent 8 years in kindergarten, 6 years in first grade and 2 years in second grade. 

I began working at North Augusta Elementary School in 2015.  Since I have been at North Augusta Elementary, I have taught First Grade for 4 years and kindergarten for 4 years. If you haven't guessed yet, this is my 24th year of teaching.

Believe me, I understand your concerns as a parent.  I promise to always look at your concerns with both parent eyes and teacher eyes.  

When I take off my teacher's hat, my favorite thing in the world is being a wife and a mother! I have been married for 28 years.  My husband and I met at the end of 9th grade in high school and we have been together ever since. We are the proud parents of 2 young men (Ethan and Connor) and a teenager (Hayden).  My youngest child has helped me grow immensely as a parent and as a teacher of children with Autism and ADHD.  As a family, we love to hang out, watch movies and eat! 

My next love is animals, especially horses.  The children will be getting an earful about all my different animals. However, that is a story for another time.
