Mr. Mike Terry

Hey everyone! My name is Mike Terry and I am priviledged to teach an awesome group of learners! My mission is to empower my students to fulfill their potential, connect relationally, and experience an uncommon sense of love and acceptance while being challenged academically. I am a graduate of Ozark Bible College (BBL, 82), Milligan College (M.Ed, 91), and Emmanuel School of Religion (MAR, 92). I've taught Special Education students for the past 21 years at Millbrook Elementary, East Aiken Elementary, Jackson Middle, and now here at North Augusta Middle School. I've been married 39 years, have two adult children.  Besides teaching, I have 33 years of pastoral experience including 23 years here in Aiken where I currently serve at Christ's Way Christian Church.

You may contact me by cell phone at 803-508-3687 or by email: mterry@acpsd.net. In the classroom, we practice a positive behavior intervention system (PBIS) where positive reinforcement is used to encourage positive behavior.  However, when negative behavior needs to be addressed, we begin with a verbal warning and positive redirection, followed by a personal contact with the parent, and lastly, a referral to the administration.  Concerning Special Education considerations, meeting invitations to review and amend IEP's are to be sent to parents a minimum of 7 days prior to the date of the scheduled meeting unless there are special circumstances.  Parents may request a special review of their child's IEP at any time.  Collaboration between school and home is a vital lnk to your ongoing child's success.
