Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Debbie Vaughn
I was born in Englewood, New Jersey, but raised here in Edgefield County. I graduated from Strom Thurmond High School, USC-A in Early Childhood Education, and Southern Wesleyan with a Master of Education.
I began my teaching career teaching fourth grade in Augusta, Georgia in 1987. After two years, I was honored to move overseas to teach for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) in Belgium and Germany. While teaching abroad for five years, I had the opportunity to visit 32 countries. It was an exciting adventure that has greatly impacted my teaching. The rest of my teaching career has been here at Belvedere. I love getting children excited about their future and about giving back to their community. Therefore, I sponsor our school's student council where I teach our children about helping others. We will be participating in many community service projects throughout the year. I welcome any parental or community support with these projects.
When I am not at school, my hobbies include cooking, camping, walking on the beach, animals, gardening, and spending time with my two daughters, Sara Beth (12th grade at Foxcreek) and Olivia (Attended Aiken Tech in Nursing). Also, I have a two-year-old grandson, Corey, that has stolen my heart!
I love our children at BES and I look forward to growing with them this year! Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
