Mrs. Amy Coleman

Hello! I am excited to be your child's Third Grade Teacher, and I really enjoy my profession. I have 19 years' experience in education. I have taught 6th, 3rd, and 2nd grade. I have been a Reading Interventionist for 12 years working closely with 1st grade students. I trained in Reading Recovery in 2003-04. I love teaching third grade. It can be challenging, but as a team, we will be successful! I'm thrilled to be your student's teacher this year!

I graduated from University of South Carolina - Aiken in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master's degree in Literacy in 2009. I earned my National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Reading/Language Arts in 2009. I am Reading Teacher certified. In addition to these certifications, I have over 30 more graduate hours in literacy education from Clemson University and University of South Carolina - Columbia and Aiken.

I am married to Benjamin Coleman. I have two sons, Jacob and Forrest, and a daughter, Shelby. These three mean the world to me, and I enjoy spending time with them. I'm a big animal lover, and I love the country. I like walking outside and exploring nature.

I know that your child can reach their greatest potential when all stakeholders, you as parents, and I as their teacher make sure that they are learning. If you need to contact me through Class Dojo or e-mail, I check my e-mail twice a day and you can call me at school. I will get back in touch with you by the end of the work day.
