Being a Special Education Teacher is my passion. I have been teaching in Aiken County for twenty-six years, ten years at Gloverville Elementary, nine years at Busbee Corbett Elementary Middle, and seven years here at Kennedy Middle School.  I have spent all my teaching career in Special Programs.  I have taught Resource, Mild, Moderate, and Severe classrooms.  I have also been a Reading Intervention Teacher.  I have had the honor of being named Teacher of the Year at all three schools I have taught at. I believe that all students can learn and should be treated with respect.  

I have been a Buddy Club sponsor for eight years at the Middle School level.  I love to see the interaction and growth that all students achieve because of the wonderful experiences they have in club activities. I am also very involved with our local Area 15 Special Olympics committee and tennis team.  My favorite quote is from Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”
