Degrees and Certifications:

BS Intelectual Disabilities, Georgia Southern Masters in Learnning Disabilites, Augusta State Montessori Education Certified

Mrs. Francis Heather Nicholson

Background

Hello. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southern University and a Masters' degree in Learning Disabilities from Augusta State University. I am certified in Montessori education. Prior to teaching at NAHS, I taught several pre-kindergarten students who were enrolled in my home school, Montessori Matters, to read and write along with many mathematical concepts. To my delight, when I began working at NAHS, I was able to encourage those former students again during their high school years.

I am married to Mike Nicholson and we have 2 adult children. Sarah graduated from the College of Charleston with a computer science degree and Michael is currently attending Charleston Southern University, earning a degree in Cyber Security.

I have taught for 29 years, 18 of them have been here at NAHS. I currently teach Essentials of English I-IV, Essentials of Math I-IV, and Essentials of Social Studies I-IV. I enjoy working with students of all ages and look forward to retiring back to the days of teaching pre-kindergarten students at my home school, Montessori Matters one day.
