Ms. Dawn Anderson

Welcome to North Augusta High School! I am very excited about sharing this school year with you! My name is Dawn Anderson. I was born and raised in Canfield, Ohio, and moved to Aiken, South Carolina in 2008. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education/English from Youngstown State University, which is located in Youngstown, Ohio. Following graduation, I returned to Youngstown State to complete my reading certification. In 2015, I earned my Master of Educational Technology degree from The University of South Carolina, Aiken campus, where I also earned Gifted and Talented endorsement. I spent my first year teaching at Ridge-Spring Monetta High School, then joined the staff at North Augusta High School in 2009. I have previously taught English II CP, English IV CP and Gifted and Talented, and this year will be my sixth year teaching Secondary Literacy using the Read 180 program. This year I will continue to serve as the secondary level Read 180 lead teacher for Aiken County Public Schools. I also am the adviser of Sandspurs, our school's yearbook, serve as a teacher for homebound students, and teach summer school. When I am not working, I enjoy being outside, spending time with family and friends, reading books, doing craft projects, and my favorite activity-watching my son play football. Go Jackets!
